This is an opportunity for children aged 9 to 13 to spend the day cooking with us. They will have fun and learn skills for life. And we’ll gently encourage the cautious ones to try new dishes and flavours!
We will make a healthy snack for mid-morning break. Then lunch, and if the weather allows we will eat outside in the fresh air and follow with a walk across the golf course to the beach. And then we will make something delicious to take home.
Here is a sample menu – which will change each session and will always incorporate a range of cooking skills:
Mid-morning snack of banana pancake – skills include measuring, egg cracking, mixing, pan frying and pancake tossing;
Lunch – stir fried vegetables with noodles – skills include knife skills, grating, stir frying, mis en place, food hygiene;
Baking to take home – Swiss roll – skills include measuring, using electric mixer, baking, sponge rolling.
